Postby Pilsern » Sun May 29, 2011 23:53

Personal Information

Real Name: Lars
Nationality: Norway
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Occupation:

Character information

Character Name: Pilsern
Character Class: (class you are playing and what role you prefer) - I play the infamous Hunter class, hate it or love it :) I prefer to pew pew from a distance and trick aggro too the tank with MD.
Character Spec: (spec and explain your talent choices) - I use Marksmanship for PvE raids, because i find it highly amusing with hard dps burst with the right rotation. My tallents are carefully put to maximize my dps to the fullest! A MM specc with a slightly touch of survival and BM to customize the benefit for MM to the fullest!
Dual spec: Survival (This is however my PvP specc, but if guild request it i may respecc for overall raid performance)
Playtime: (playtime on your main character) 114 days, 17 hours and 39 seconds
Would you be willing to respec? (Yes / No) - Yes, if the guild requires my respecc i will obey that, if the officer who gives the command have exp and give me a proper reason for that desired respecc.

Respec options:
What specs you can play well, how is your gear for them. - I play best in MM specc, survival for PvE works aswell. BM is my no no specc. I find it highly usless in PvE because the lack for burst, and if the pet dies, its game over dps-wise, lose around 90k dps for the 10 sec resurect the pet spell.
Alts: Teka (75 priest)
(Name classes, specs you played, playtime.) - I've played Warrior too 56, Priest 75, Warlock 80 and Hunter too 85.
Primary Profession 1: Enchanting(Full with all Cata enchants) The reason i chose Enchanting is cuse it gives very nice ring enchants aswell as income!
Skill Level: 525

Primary Profession 2: JC Still levling that for nice enchants!
Skill Level: 80

Additional Questions
Have you played other MMOs in the past? (If yes which ones) - No, Wow is my first love, and still is. Tryed Conan, but found it less amusing

What interested you in our guild?
I've always taken interest in progressing guilds, like this. As i read the progression about this guild i soon felt a strong interest.

What can you bring to the guild?
Good mood and spirit. I can bring a fairly decent hunter who knows he's job in any raid, alway prepared with elixirs, food and full repair before every raid. Show on time and never desert a raid before an officer calls it a day.
Oh and btw, Chuck Norris jokes, got tons of them :)

Do you understand the concept of SARCASM? Haha, idd i do!

What do you expect from Madhouse? - I expect a mature community, good mood and a strong spirits, with raids that is :D I also expect everything I've promised earlier in this post. Every raider shows up at time, prepared with no dmg on gear and lots of elixirs and food for a progressive, fun but serious raid.

Can you assure that you can play 4 days every week? - I can assure you 5 days if that's what it's take!

Raiding times are Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday 19:15-23:00 - I'm aware of that!

Why do you play WoW? - I've always enjoyed computer games. When i first stumbled accros this marvelous fantastic game i soon fell in love with it. It's idd one of the best computer games ever made and i still enjoy it, even i've played it for nearly 5 years

What do you want to achieve? - I want to achieve progression with strong core members who takes raid seriously, and enjoy the game to the fullest by exploring every challange blizzard have in store for us.

Can you paindt? Not at all.. :p

Can you farm/obtain enough gold to have enough for repair bills, maximum consumables and best possible enchants and gems for your raiding gear? - As i stated earlier in this post, this is what i require from my fellow guild members, so of course i can promise to do the same!

Have you applied to other guilds so far,if so why were you denied and why were we your choice now instead of the first?
No, this is my first guild apply in a long time. The reason i chose you guys is as i stated earlier in the post. I'm looking for serious, mature players who i can enjoy progressive raiding with!

Can you fluently communicate on Ventrilo, socialise with other people? - I have a mic and full acces to ventrilo and teamspeak :)

Why pick to be Undead over Troll or Orc? Both being superior as far as maximizing your dps goes.

I play undead becuse i got tierd of Orc Hunter. Wanted to try a new look, so i chose to do a race change from the orc i've been playing for the past 4 years, rp wise ;p
Haven't noticed a really hard drop in dps actually, still mannage steady 19-21k with proper buffs in raid

Could you tell us about your rotation, and maybe post a screenshot of your UI (keybinds, macros etc)?

Everything looks good, but there's a things I would point out. Change your glove and cloak enchant to 20 agility and 22 agility, those are way better that 50 haste and 50 crit. About your wrist enchant it's no biggie, since you're probably waiting for the Chimaeron bracers to drop. Same comes to your chest and feet enchant. And I would change the yellow gem you got, 20 agi + 20 mastery, to 20 agi + 20 crit.

Now to your talents/glyphs.
Your spec seems fine, but I'm curious why you're using Glyph of Deterrence, and Glyph of Scatter Shot, is there any specific reason for this? I would prefer Glyph of Trap Launcher and Glyph of Raptor Strike.

That's all I can think of right now.

Certainly, thank you for specific feedback and comments!

About my rotation i like too open the fight with Aimed Shot, followed by Chimera Shot, Rapid Fire, Steady Shot, Steady Shot, Readiness, Serpent Sting. This is always my opner at any boss. After the serpent sting i spam Steady Shot, Chimera Shot(after CD) and Aimed Shot when the instant proccs. Use rapid fire again when it wears off, and spam Steady shot, chimera shot too the boss is under 80%. Then i go over too use arcane shot and chimera shot, and Steady Shot too regen focus. Cleans and repeat.
I find this rotation most efficent and a heavy dps burst. In most bost battles i can use 4 rapid fires as MM, that's the reason why i pop CD's so early.
Note: I don't use macros for this specc, I do it all manual, reason for this is i don't always trust the macro if there is, for instance lag, or some bug with the macro, this could end in a heavly dps loss for me.

About the gems, enchant and glyphs. Yeah, abit slacky with the minor glyphs, will fix that immediently :)
Always nice too get honest feedback from fellow hunters with exp. I totally agree on your statements about my gems and enchant. Will fix this asap, for the sake of maximize dps.

Thank you for honest feedback, Tryllestaven :) Most appreciated!

First to your rotation, I see you're using the arcane shot rotation when the boss is below 80%, but you're using Glyph of Aimed Shot? If your doing this rotation, you should get the Arcane Shot glyph.
And about your opener (when the boss is above 80%), I like to start off with Hunter's Mark - Serpent Sting (popping CDs after this shot) - Chimera - Readiness - Chimera - Steady x2 (for the attack speed buff) - Aimed Shot - Steady x2 - Aimed Shot - Chimera - Steady x2 etc etc. I'm hardcasting Aimed Shot when the boss is above 80% because of the Careful Aim talent we got, it's a great dps boost.
When the boss is below you can do 2 kinds of rotations, you can keep hardcasting Aimed Shot (that's what I normally do), or you can cast Arcane Shot instead of Aimed Shot, and only use Aimed Shot when the free shot procs. On some fights where there's a lot of movement (like Omnomnom and Atramedes), I switch between these two rotations + I'm switching glyphs to Glyph of Arcane Shot and Glyph of Chimera Shot instead of the Aimed Shot and Rapid Fire glyphs.

And since you're saying money isn't any problem, I would skill up your JC to 500 for the 3 gems if I were you.

Do you use any macros at all? Like aspect dancing between fox/hawk, deterrence, MD, FD, disengage for example.
It would be awesome if you could provide me a screenshot of your UI, so I can see your keybinds etc.

I've tested the rotation with hardcasting Aimed Shot on the dummies, and honestly it's a heavy dps burst! Found myself a new favourite rotation :D Going to swap the Kill Shot glyph with rapid fire for 10% more haste in Rapid Fire mode! Thank you for sharing that rotation, honestly didn't know it had such hard burst! .. still learning i guess:p

Yeah, I'm working on my JC and get it up fast for nice gems!

As for the macros, I still say no. I'm confident with my self judging when it comes to dancing with Fox/Hawk with bosses that includes alot of running. I used alot of macros when we hunters had mana, but with the focus system i find it alot better to self judge my casting rotation and swapping. I have no problems maintain steady dps without macros and find it more amusing doing it manually.

One thing I am interested in is you obviously want to be in our guild else you wouldn't have applied so why have you not tried to get your character in to the best shape possible? I am mainly hinting at professions because not having them maxed or at least to the level of the dps boost items is just showing that you aren't that arsed about trying to do your best however much you say so in your application.

Interesting question indeed. Well, I'm showing up with almost the best gear i can get as far as normal raiding goes, everything gemmed with enchants. And indeed got exp with all the normal bosses (I have researched every HC ones with videons and read about them)
This means i don't take this guild lightly, I know what you guys are raiding and i respect that with not posting a suitable character to join the guild with.

As far as my JC profession goes, I have swapped between mining and engineering( Both full), but decided that JC is best suited for me, so I'm lvling it up asap for best suitable boost it benefits me.
