Kaybie - Shadownub (priest)

Postby Kaybie » Mon Jun 06, 2011 20:09

Personal Information

Real Name: Kay
Nationality: British
Gender: Female
Age: Almost 22 (12th June)
Occupation: Mum

Character information

Character Name: Kaybie
Character Class: Priest
Character Spec: Shadow
Dual spec: A/A Disc
Playtime: 71d 12h
Would you be willing to respec? No. I don't mind the odd raid, but I am not a fan of healing, therefore would only use it as an occasional off-spec.

Respec options:
What specs you can play well, how is your gear for them. I've never played holy. Shadow is great, disc is passable. I only have shadow gear.

Alts: (I'm not logging in to every alt to give you a /played, only those that are former mains. I no longer play on RT or SWC.)

Talnivarr EU:
85 Feral tank/Resto druid
70 Resto/Ele Shaman

Runetotem EU:
80 Demonology Warlock (former main 40d 1h)
80 Resto/Balance druid
80 Arcane mage
80 Blood DK
74 Hunter

Steamwheedle Cartel EU:
82 Resto/Ele Shaman
80 Holy/Prot Paladin (former main 43d 6h)

Primary Profession 1: Tailoring
Skill Level: 525

Primary Profession 2: Enchanting
Skill Level: 525

If you are a dps applicant, give us an insight to how you would start a fight with your rotation, then leading in to your rinse and repeat one:

Open with: VT > SW:P > DP > Shadowfiend > MF > MF > MB > Refresh VT > Refresh DP > Archangel > MB/MF.

From there, it's a priority rotation of refreshing dots about 2-3 seconds before they fall off, using MB (mostly) on cooldown, exceptions if Theralions Mirror is running out in 6 seconds, I will put off casting an orbed MB until about 3 seconds, and again until the improved Empowered shadows buff is about to run out. I generally use shadowfiend and archangel on cooldown as well, unless there is a specific part of the fight that cooldowns should be saved for or if I'm timing CDs to coincide with BL. After 25%, I also add shadow word: death into my rotation, as a priority spell behind MB.

I also have a priority system for when to refresh DoTs based on what procs I have up. Obviously it's preferable to have more than 1 before I refesh.
DMC > Mirror > Lightweave > Powertorrent.

Technical equipment
Can your PC run WoW in a raid setting without performance problems? Of course.
Brief overview of spec of Computer:
Gigabyte S-series Motherboard GA-G31M-S2L
4GB RAM
Palit 8800GT Graphics card
Creative Audology sound card
(I can't remember what the processor is. I know it's Intel and it's a quadcore)

Character history (EXPLAIN IN DETAIL) :
Guild history:

Realm: Runetotem EU.

Heritage - My first guild! I started with Heritage as one of their members spotted me pugging Kara and must have been absolutely mental and liked what they saw. They gave me my first taste of raiding, to which I am forever grateful to them. They are lovely people, but do stand in the fire. I decided to move on as I wanted to change perspective from being a passable healer to a good dps, but they did not have the space for me to do so, and as above I wanted to experience a bit more of the raiding game.

Treehugging Hippies - Guild no. 2! I raided with these guys throughout Ulduar and ToC. Again, fantastic bunch of people and I loved spending my time with these guys. They showed me how to have fun while raiding, and not to stand in the fire. Still speak to many of them on facebook. Again, I moved on from these guys because I wanted to be more focused on progression.

The Untouchables - Guild no. 3! Joined them just before ICC launched with my severely undergeared priest. They gave me a chance to shine in raiding. They don't stand in the fire (often) and had amazing raid synergy. They worked with each other almost seamlessly, although sometimes we were a few people short for the raids. To be honest, I would love to still be with this guild, however due to work commitments last year, I could not maintain the 80% attendance required over 4 raids. I was demoted to social because of this, therefore I moved server to find a guild willing to accommodate my ridiculous work hours at the time. Thankfully this isn't an issue anymore as I left my job 2 weeks ago.

Realm: Steamwheedle Cartel

Damnation - Guild no.4 and 6! The guild I moved to SWC to join. Unfortunately, the guild fell apart a week after I joined because the guild leader decided he wanted to move the guild to a realm that doesn't suck, but the guild didn't want to move. So, left the dead guild.

Independant - Was only with this guild for a couple of weeks. I found them very difficult to raid with. I'm happy to discuss these in private. I helped them achieve a kill of LK25hc just before the launch of Cataclysm. As I'm an honest person, the guild leader asked if I was planning to stay, to which I replied probably not. I was then told I would be removed from the guild as they only wanted active players going into Cata, so I left. As a stop gap I joined a non-raiding social guild while considering my options.

Damnation MKII - Yes, the same Damnation, under new leadership! A friend on SWC who had raided with me in Independent also found them difficult, so decided to revive Damnation. I jumped at the chance to join them again and see some Cataclysm raiding. We started raiding at the start of January in 10-mans. I've always preferred running 25s, so I was very pleased when the guild leader decided to make it a 25guild. However, the problem is that there are not many skilled players on SWC to fill a 25guild, so we're often stuck running 10mans, often with 21 people fighting for 10 spots.

Realm: Talnivarr

School Bus - Lovely guild, had a great time since joining them. They're now not raiding anymore, therefore it's time to move on.

What instances have you cleared, which bosses?
Divide it between Vanila WoW, TBC, WotLK. Include all major instances!
(EXPLAIN IN DETAIL, We don't want to go through your application and find out that you don't have the reputation for required factions etc.)

Vanila: Nil.
TBC - Started Wow here. Cleared Kara, Gruul, Maggy and went to BT once.
WotLK - Naxx, EoE, Ulduar, ToC and 12/12 ICC heroic 10 and 25.
Cata - 9/13 hc, with Choggy, Sinestra, Al'akir and Council left to clear.

Additional Questions
Have you played other MMOs in the past? (If yes which ones) Ultima Online was my first MMO. I tried Warhammer for a bit, but preferred wow.

What interested you in our guild? Similar progress to my current guild and the odd pug I've had with Madhouse members have always been successful. I also know Largi from Download and Lightcry who just joined you.

What can you bring to the guild? I can bring plenty of skill, heroic mode experience, a drive to progress no matter how many wipes it takes, an understanding that I am not the best thing since sliced bread and that I have plenty of scope to improve myself further if I continue to put the effort in.

Do you understand the concept of SARCASM? NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAyes.

What do you expect from Madhouse? Players that show up to raid, bring their consumables and have their game faces ready.

Can you assure that you can play 4 days every week? Yes. Though I may be late for raids on the odd occasion as my daughter's bedtime is 19:00. My partner usually puts her to bed though so quite a rare occurance that it should affect anything.

Raiding times are Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday 19:15-23:00

Why do you play WoW? I is addict yo. I'm a big fan of all things fantasy, which is why I started playing Ultima Online about 10 years ago. It progressed from there into WoW.

What do you want to achieve? 13/13 heroic? That would be a good start.

Can you farm/obtain enough gold to have enough for repair bills, maximum consumables and best possible enchants and gems for your raiding gear? Yes of course. Although I have been used to cauldrons and feasts, I always bring my own just in case.

Have you applied to other guilds so far,if so why were you denied and why were we your choice now instead of the first? I have not applied to any other guilds yet. I only found out 30 mins ago that SB aren't raiding anymore.

Can you fluently communicate on Ventrilo, socialise with other people? Yes, although I have a geordie accent so you may struggle to understand me.

Sorry to mess you around chaps, but I'm going to withdraw this app for the moment.

I've decided to stick it out with School Bus and see if I can get some 10mans going there before I jump ship.
