Galronlol - Orc Warrior - Deathwing [Accepted]

Postby Galron » Mon Jun 20, 2011 00:50

Personal Information

Real Name: Markus Pesonen
Nationality: Finnish
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Occupation: Student

Character information

Character Name: Galronlol
Character Class: (class you are playing and what role you prefer) I currently play a Warrior as my main character and the role I prefer is DPS but I also enjoy tanking.
Character Spec: (spec and explain your talent choices) My spec is a generic Fury Single-Minded Fury raiding spec which is used by most warriors. This spec contains all the required DPS increasing talents and also some survivability talents and other utility talents.
Dual spec: My 2nd spec at the moment is protection which I mostly use to tank 5mans and the occasional 10man boss.

Playtime: (playtime on your main character) 50 days and 20 hours

Would you be willing to respec? (Yes / No) Yes. I know the arms spec as well as I know fury so I have no problem playing arms or even protection.

Respec options:
What specs you can play well, how is your gear for them. As stated above I can play arms as well as I play fury and I've also tanked quite a lot so I'm comfortable playing protection aswell. My arms gear is equally good to my fury gear but my protection gear isnt quite as good. Good enough to tank raid normal modes.

Alts: I have a hunter(11 days 14 hours played) and a paladin (34 days 22 hours played) that are lvl 85. I play MM on my hunter and Holy on my paladin.
(Name classes, specs you played, playtime.)

Primary Profession 1: Alchemy
Skill Level: 525

Primary Profession 2: Engineering
Skill Level: 525

If you are a dps applicant, give us an insight to how you would start a fight with your rotation, then leading in to your rinse and repeat one:

As a SMF fury warrior I have a priority list that goes as follows: Bloodthirst > Colossus Smash > Slam (Bloodsurge proc) > Raging Blow while using Heroic Strike as a ragedump when over 75 rage. This means the basic rotation would be Bloodthirst --> Raging Blow --> Bloodthirst while replacing Raging Blow with Slam when it procs and using Colossus Smash on cooldown without delaying Bloodthirst.

Links to dps/healing logs: I haven't been raiding seriously in a little while so don't have any logs that are up to date.

Technical equipment
Can your PC run WoW in a raid setting without performance problems? Yes
Brief overview of spec of Computer
Intel Core i5-760 2.8 GHz
Asus EAH5770
4 Gigs of ram

Character history (EXPLAIN IN DETAIL) : I started playing this warrior in the end part of WotLK, during patch 3.4, aka the Icecrown Citadel patch. The reason I started the warrior so late was because I joined a new guild which needed dps warriors, so when I joined them I was asked to reroll from my Druid, which I did. After doing a few raids as Fury I started loving the warrior class even more, and I still love playing my warrior as much as ever. When Cataclysm hit I took a break from WoW because I had my final exams coming up so I wanted to take time to prepare and do well in those. During March 2011 when I had finished my exams I came back to wow, leveled my warrior up in a few days and started gearing it up.

What guilds you have been in?
The only guilds worth mentioning are Northern Prime, Core Fusion and Eunomia. Northern Prime was my first proper raiding guild which I joined in the start of TBC. It was an all finnish guild with a quite small raider core which later ended up disbanding the guild. I did Kara, Gruuls, SSC and TK in this guild, but due to lack of raiders we ended up disbanding before managing to take down Kael'thas or Lady Vashj.

After that I joined Core Fusion. With Core Fusion we cleared MH and BT and even at one point were the only guild on the realm to have killed Illidan. After taking down Illidan we started progressing on Sunwell Plateau and managed to take down Kalecgos and Brutallus in a months time but before taking down Felmyst the 3.0 patch hit so I wouldnt say kills after that really count. I played a restoration druid during TBC.

During WotLK I was one of the two people in Core Fusion who decided to reroll a Death Knight, and I ended up tanking. We managed to clear Naxxramas as server 3rd (I think), Eye of Eternity and killed Sartharion with 3 drakes up as server 2nd or 3rd aswell. Also our 10man group got server first on 10man Sarth + 3drakes. When the Ulduar patch hit our guild was in desperate need of healers, so as an officer at the time I decided to help out the guild and rolled back to my druid and did ulduar as resto. We managed to clear Ulduar, but due to lack of good raiders we weren't able to compete on server firsts anymore at that time. Though, again our 10man group managed to kill Yogg-Saron first on the server. So as mentioned above, our guild was lacking good raiders, so we decided to merge with another top guild on our realm which had similar problems, and the result was a guild called Edge. The guild didn't last long, though, since even the active raiders started slacking and therefore we ended up disbanding. After that I joined a guild called Lockdown where I got server first Algalon, but then me and the old Core Fusion core decided to migrate to a new realm and get a fresh start with a fresh guild. We ended up on Draenor, and there we started recruiting people and got a pretty decent group for 25man just when Icecrown came about. We cleared the first 4 bosses for a few weeks, but again due to lack of skilled raiders we ended up disbanding before the plague wing was introduced. After this I had break for a few months, and then joined the new guild called Eunomia back on deathwing on my warrior, which I already mentioned above.

In Cataclysm I've been in a few guilds. The first proper guild was Arcade, which I joined because some of my old friends from Core Fusion were there. The guild was pretty bad, but we did most of the content on normal. After that I joined a guild called Capax where I still am.

What were the reasons for leaving them? The reason I left Northern Prime was due to it disbanding. Same with Core Fusion and Edge. I left Lockdown since I wanted to play with my old friends, and arcade since I didnt feel happy with the state of the progress. The reason I'm leaving Capax is the same as with Arcade.

What instances have you cleared, which bosses?
Divide it between Vanila WoW, TBC, WotLK. Include all major instances!
(EXPLAIN IN DETAIL, We don't want to go through your application and find out that you don't have the reputation for required factions etc.)

Vanilla:

Only managed to get a shaman to around lvl 40, so didn't do any raiding.

The Burning Crusade:

Karazhan - Cleared
Gruul's Lair - Cleared
Serpentshrine Cavern - Cleared
Tempest Keep - Cleared
Mount Hyjal - Cleared
Black Temple - Cleared
Zul'aman - Cleared (Also have an the bearmount from the timed run on my druid)
Sunwell Plateau - Killed Kalecgos and Brutallus, also Felmyst/Twins/M'uru/KT after 3.0

Wrath of the Lich King:
(25man)
Naxxramas - Cleared
Eye of Eternity - Cleared
The Obsidian Sanctum - Cleared
Ulduar - Cleared
Trial of the Crusader - 5/5 on normal, 4/5 heroic
Icecrown Citadel - 12/12 normal, 11/12 heroic
The Ruby Sanctum - 25man Cleared on normal, 10man on heroic

Cataclysm:
(10man)
Bastion of Twilight - 4/4 on normal, also Halfus on heroic
Blackwing Descent - 6/6 on normal, also atramedes on heroic

The lack of Cataclysm raiding experience is due to the quality of my realm. There are no guilds here that have downed any of the endbosses on 25man heroic, so theres not much to choose from.

Additional Questions
Have you played other MMOs in the past? (If yes which ones)
No
What interested you in our guild?
(If you have a friend in the guild, say so here.)
To be honest I don't know much about your guild so you could say I'm taking a risk here, but hey, what's life without risks, right?
What can you bring to the guild?
i.e. experience, leadership, Chuck Norris jokes, etc.
I have very extensive raiding experience, and love the feeling of progression. I also have experience of managing and leading raids (both 25 and 10man), so I guess you could say I have some leadership ability aswell. I also love joking around and having fun while doing farm content and especially during the late hours of the night in gchat.

Do you understand the concept of SARCASM?
Yes! Sarcasm is actually my 2nd language.

What do you expect from Madhouse?
A raidspot, a good time during raids and during progression a competitive atmosphere and people who play for progression, not for loot.

Can you assure that you can play 4 days every week? I have been known to be a player who could keep 100% attendance for months in a row. This is still true. :P

Raiding times are Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday 19:15-23:00

Why do you play WoW? I play WoW to satisfy my competent nature. I also get a rush from downing a boss that I've wiped on for hours to learn it completely. Obviously one big part is that I have a lot of fun playing, especially when raiding with cool people.

What do you want to achieve?
During TBC and WotLK I had a taste of server firsts, so that is ultimately what I always hope to get a chance at competing for. Also being as good as I possibly can at the class I play is extremely important for me.

Can you farm/obtain enough gold to have enough for repair bills, maximum consumables and best possible enchants and gems for your raiding gear? Yes.

Have you applied to other guilds so far,if so why were you denied and why were we your choice now instead of the first? Nope.

Can you fluently communicate on Ventrilo, socialise with other people? Yes. I am the kind of person who usually gets along with pretty much everyone, so socializing wont be a problem for me.

I've read your application and gone briefly through your gear and noticed a slight error in reforging, if you're following the current SMF stat weights which are:

Strength > Hit 8% > Expertise 26 (781 rating) > Crit > Hit (as much as you can get up until 27%) > Haste > Mastery

then it should look something more like this.

Another thing is your rotation, how come you put BT over CS? The current proper priority queue is CS > BT > Slam > RB > HS (HS when above 50 or so rage).

There really isn't anything else I can criticise you about, which is a good thing, all in all decent application.

If Phil doesn't have anything to whine about, it's a big bump up!

I'll fix the reforging part asap. When it comes to the rotation, from what I've been reading on EJ lately it seems that if you delay BT with CS you gain pretty much no extra CS uptime on the boss while losing 1 BT for every 2 times you delay it. This is a quote from a recent post on EJ:
"It's pretty simple, really, Bloodthirst is on a 3 second cooldown and CS is on a 20 second cooldown. If you delay Bloodthirst but twice for CS you lose a full Bloodthirst's worth of damage for possibly 0 gain in CS uptime (or to put it another way, 10 extra Bloodthirsts > 6 seconds of Colossus Smash). Bloodthirst's short cooldown also means that your CS uptime rotation will always remain the same regardless of when you use it."

And thats why I use BT over CS.
