RAM, be pro please.

Postby Blíz » Tue Sep 16, 2008 17:51

So, I have 4 sticks of RAM that I can use. I only have room for 2 in my computer.

They are all 512 MB and 400 MHz each, 2 are the same kind (#3), 1 is a Kingston (#1), and one is something else. (#2)

My question is, which 2 will be the best to combine?
I have tested them all together and used the program "Performance Test" to see their attributes.

Now, I have no fucking idea what you should look for, what is good and what you don't need them to have lots of. So, which 2 will be best combined?

Here is a picture of them all, when I made the test on them.

Thanks!

i have no idea wut the benchmark is but, i gues its best to put 2 of the same on the primary 2 slots and the other 2 in the other 2 slots

he can only use 2, l2readrepa!

Just use the two of the same brand tbh, If you can see any CAS timings just go with the ones with the lowest numbers! else just shove the 2 which are the same brand, Can't make heads or tails of that benchmark ;o

If the time spent on these endless tests is less valuable than buying 2 x 1GB decent RAM dimms, you must be really useless.

Other than that, the numbers speak for themselves, use the two of the same kind, if your computer is capable of dual channel, it's best you have identical dimms in both slots.
